Sugar is effectively the only commodity here: Guayabal, on Cuba's south coast in Las Tunas province, is a specialised loading point for raw bulk sugar. A single pier of roughly 156 metres handles mechanised loading of bulk sugar for the export client Tecnoazúcar, with a limited capacity for liquid bulk alongside. Containers, general cargo and reefer traffic are not part of the offer, and with only around eleven vessel calls a year the port is markedly seasonal and niche.
