About 109,000 cubic metres of forestry products a year pass over the quays at Greenville, also known as Sinoe, making timber the defining trade of Liberia's third-largest port. Sited where the Sinoe River meets the Atlantic and sheltered by a roughly 400 m breakwater, it offers two berths of 70 m and 180 m with a harbour depth of around 6 m. Logs and wood products are loaded for export under National Port Authority management, with recent shipments sailing as far as South Asia. There is no scheduled container line, and the port is being rehabilitated, with a larger expansion put out to tender. Shippers moving containers or general cargo to Liberia should use the Freeport of Monrovia, with Buchanan as a further option.
