Chrome and manganese ore, mined nearby, are Fethiye's main commercial cargoes, shipped alongside agricultural produce and timber from this sheltered gulf on Turkey's south-west coast. Volumes are modest, however: only around 15 vessels and some 34,500 tonnes of cargo pass each year, against 3,500 cruise passengers. The 355 m quay accepts ships up to 190 m in length and 9 m draught, and the naturally protected bay is best known as a yacht and small-cruise destination. Scheduled container or dangerous-goods services are not confirmed here. For ore, bulk or boxes, forwarders rely on Güllük near Milas or the larger ports of İzmir/Aliağa and Antalya.
