Steel sheet, pipes and coils — in steel, aluminium or copper — make up much of the cargo crossing the quays at Fécamp, a small multipurpose port on Normandy's Alabaster Coast. The harbour handles roughly 317,000 tonnes a year across some 154 vessel calls, combining dry bulk and general cargo with regional agri-food goods. Once France's leading cod-fishing port, with fleets reaching the Newfoundland banks, Fécamp now shares its basins between a modest fishing fleet and a growing yacht marina. It offers no container line, reefer or RoRo services. Forwarders needing boxes should look to nearby Le Havre, while grain and bulk volumes are better suited to Rouen on the Seine. Fécamp itself works best for conventional breakbulk and project metals within the Normandy hinterland.
