For more than a century, Fauske has shipped out the pink 'Norwegian Rose' marble quarried along the Fauskevika, and stone still defines its trade. Sitting at the head of the fjord about 23 nm east of Bodø in Nordland, the port mainly exports marble, dolomite, limestone and concrete products from the surrounding quarries. A single concrete quay handles the traffic, served by forklifts, silos, open yards, warehouses and transit sheds. Scheduled container services are not confirmed here: Fauske is a dry-bulk and breakbulk port rather than a box terminal.
