Two single buoy moorings and an LPG floating-storage unit, not quay berths, define the Escravos Oil Terminal off Nigeria's Niger Delta. SBM No 2 handles tankers up to 286,000 dwt, while a second mooring accepts VLCCs up to 350,000 tonnes displacement, loading crude gathered from offshore fields and stabilised at the onshore Escravos tank farm. The facility is operated by the Chevron–NNPC joint venture and deals exclusively in crude oil and associated petroleum streams. There are no container, breakbulk or RoRo operations, and no commercial customs clearance for general freight. Forwarders moving boxes or project cargo to Nigeria should route via Lagos/Apapa, Tin Can Island or the deep-water port at Lekki.
