Around 100 commercial vessels call at Eden each year, sharing three wharves at the far south of New South Wales: a privately owned woodchip terminal, the multi-user Royal Australian Navy wharf and the Eden Cruise Wharf. Principal exports are hardwood and softwood woodchips, plus softwood logs, explosives and oil-and-gas equipment, while Eden is also the state's largest fishing port. A 44 million AUD extension completed in 2019 lets cruise ships up to 345 m berth alongside in Snug Cove rather than tendering passengers from Twofold Bay. The port handles no scheduled container line services; its cargo is bulk, breakbulk and project freight. Hinterland access is by road, with no direct rail connection to the berths. Shippers needing containerised capacity use Port Botany in Sydney or Port Kembla.
