A single converted tanker acting as a floating storage unit and one CALM single-point mooring buoy in roughly 30 m of water make up the entire Ebome Marine Terminal off Cameroon's coast. The facility is operated by Perenco and exists solely to export crude oil from the KF/Ebome field southeast of Kribi, loading tankers of 50,000 to 180,000 dwt. It is not a container, breakbulk or general-cargo port, and offers no customs clearance for trade goods or road and rail hinterland links. For forwarders moving boxes, reefer or project cargo to Cameroon, Ebome is of no practical use. Commercial shipments instead route through the nearby deepwater port of Kribi or the country's main gateway at Douala. The terminal's only freight role is the crude-oil logistics of the tanker operators chartered to lift the field's production.
