Set in Saudi Arabia's north-western Tabuk region on the Red Sea, this port was absorbed into the NEOM giga-project in 2022 and rebranded Port of NEOM in 2023, so forwarders will encounter both the old name Duba and the new one. Since April 2026 the Port of NEOM has been fully operational, handling complex cargo through its multipurpose terminal. The new T1 container terminal, with 1.5 million TEU capacity, features a 900 m quay wall, 18.5 m draft and a 550 m access channel able to accommodate the world's largest container vessels. It runs Saudi Arabia's first fully automated ship-to-shore cranes: 10 STS cranes and 30 electric rubber-tyred gantries (eRTGs) from ZPMC, all remote-controlled; full automation is targeted for 2028. Alongside the container facility, a daily roll-on/roll-off passenger ferry continues to link Duba with Safaga in Egypt — the shortest maritime crossing between the Arabian Peninsula and the Egyptian mainland — and dry bulk plus ROPAX traffic with on-site warehousing remain in the mix. Proximity to the Suez Canal and northern Egyptian ports positions the site within regional Vision 2030 shipping flows. Road corridors serve a sparsely populated hinterland around Tabuk; rail connectivity is still developing. For mainline deep-sea container services with broader liner frequency, Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port remain the established alternatives further south.
