Around 2.7 million tonnes of crude leave Djeno Terminal each year aboard roughly 44 tankers, making it the export point for about 95% of the Republic of Congo's oil output. Lying some 15 km south-south-east of Pointe-Noire, it is a pure petroleum export facility rather than a general-cargo port. Loading is handled at a Single Buoy Mooring about two nautical miles offshore in roughly 22 m of water, sized for tankers up to 320 m. Submarine pipelines feed the terminal from several offshore fields, exporting medium, sweet "Djeno" crude of API 26.4 operated by TotalEnergies. No container, breakbulk or customs clearance for ordinary freight takes place here. Forwarders moving boxes or project cargo should route via neighbouring Pointe-Noire (APM Terminals), the region's multipurpose and container gateway.
