On the Normandy coast of the English Channel, Dieppe is best known as a cross-Channel ferry port and a traditional fruit-import harbour. Its largest traffic is the DFDS RoRo ferry to Newhaven in England, carrying passengers and freight across the Channel in about four hours, with up to three sailings a day in peak season. Beyond the ferry, the port handles marine aggregates and gravel, general cargo and fish landings, and runs a marina. There is no large-scale container line service here. For forwarders, Dieppe is useful mainly for trailer and RoRo traffic to and from the UK, plus bulk and fruit; containers route through Le Havre, while Rouen handles grain and dry bulk on the Seine.
