# Depoe Bay

**Country:** United States
**Water Body:** North Pacific Ocean
**Harbor Size:** Very Small
**Harbor Type:** Coastal (Natural)
**GPS:** 44.8000, -124.0667

At roughly six acres, with a channel barely 15 metres wide blasted through volcanic rock, Depoe Bay on the Oregon coast is billed as one of the world's smallest navigable harbours. It serves almost entirely commercial and recreational fishing and charter boats; with a channel depth of only about 1.8 metres, no commercial freight traffic operates here. Containers, breakbulk and tanker cargo simply cannot be accommodated. Shippers with such consignments should look to the Oregon ports of Newport (Yaquina Bay) or Coos Bay.
