Dar es Salaam's Adani-run CT2 container terminal posted a record 1.48 million TEU in fiscal year 2025/26, up from 1.22 million TEU the year before and well above its nominal 1 million TEU design capacity. The Tanzanian port (UN/LOCODE TZ DAR) still handles roughly 90 per cent of the country's international trade and remains the principal sea outlet for landlocked Zambia, Malawi and the DR Congo. Customs procedures for import, export and transit trade to neighbouring countries are well established. Shippers seeking alternatives can route via Mombasa in Kenya, or Beira in Mozambique for southern corridors.
