About 150 km off the Angolan coast, in 600–1,400 m of water, the Dalia Terminal (UN/LOCODE AO DAL) is the Dalia FPSO on deep-offshore Block 17 rather than a coastal port. Operated by TotalEnergies with partners including Equinor, ExxonMobil, Azule Energy and Sonangol, the vessel processes up to 240,000 barrels of crude a day and stores around 2 million barrels for transfer to shuttle tankers. On stream since 2006, its production licence now runs to 2045. No container, breakbulk or customs handling exists at this purely upstream installation. For conventional ocean and container cargo, the Port of Luanda is the nearest commercial gateway, with Soyo serving the oil sector.
