Porto Corsini (IT PCS) is the seaward gateway to the Port of Ravenna on the upper Adriatic, moving dry bulk, agribulk, breakbulk, containers and project cargo. Container traffic is run by Terminal Container Ravenna (TCR), a Sapir–Contship venture that handled around 200,000 TEU in 2025, its strongest year in recent memory. Facilities stretch along the roughly 12-kilometre Candiano Canal, where an ongoing deepening programme aims to let ships of up to 8,000 TEU call. Ravenna's real strength, however, lies in dry bulk and agricultural commodities handled at terminals such as Setramar and IFA, with Setramar alone able to work up to 7 million tonnes a year. Rail and road links carry cargo inland to the Po Valley and northern Italy. For higher-volume container flows or denser liner services, Venice, Trieste or Genoa are the natural alternatives.
