Run by the Skikda port authority together with the state fishing-port operator SGPP, Collo functions first and foremost as a fishing harbour rather than a commercial cargo gateway. Set on Cap Collo about 20 nautical miles north-west of Skikda, it offers dedicated quays for sardine boats and trawlers, fuel berths and refrigerated storage for seafood, plus roughly two hectares of open yard. Its trade centres on locally landed fish and on cork exported from the mountainous hinterland, not on containers. With an alongside depth of only about five metres, the port has no confirmed container, international customs or dangerous-goods capability. Road links connect it to Skikda and the wider Constantine region. Shippers needing container, breakbulk or customs services route through the Port of Skikda, with Annaba and Béjaïa as further eastern Algerian alternatives.
