On Cuba's southern Caribbean coast, Casilda is the loading port for the town of Trinidad, about 5 km inland in Sancti Spíritus province. The harbour has a single pier with two berths and handles vessels up to roughly 170 m in length at around 7.6 m draught, with some loading and discharging carried out at anchor. Its traditional cargoes are sugar and agricultural produce from the surrounding region; container, dangerous-goods and regular international liner handling are not confirmed here.
