Caremar and Medmar car ferries and SNAV hydrofoils set the rhythm at Casamicciola Terme (IT CML), the second-busiest harbour on the island of Ischia after Ischia Porto, on the northern shore of the Gulf of Naples. Much of the island's food, building materials and consumer goods arrive in the holds of these roll-on/roll-off ferries, which run daily to Naples (Porta di Massa), Pozzuoli and Procida; crossings to Naples take roughly 50 to 90 minutes depending on the vessel. The port handles no container, tanker or conventional breakbulk traffic, and a marina of about 500 berths serves leisure craft alongside the ferry quays. A November 2022 landslide hit the town hard and temporarily disrupted port operations. Shippers moving containers or project cargo to Ischia clear through Naples, with goods then ferried across from Pozzuoli or Naples.
