Roughly 920 million cubic feet of gas a day — about a fifth of Thailand's demand — flow from Bongkot, the largest gas field in the Gulf of Thailand, some 203 km off Songkhla. Despite the label "terminal", this is an offshore production complex operated by PTTEP and producing gas and condensate since 1993, not a commercial harbour. Only supply boats and tankers call here; there are no container, general-cargo or customs services for ordinary forwarding. Commercial shippers in southern Thailand and the Gulf should use Songkhla, Map Ta Phut, or Laem Chabang/Bangkok. No UN/LOCODE is assigned to this production point.
