Timber, mineral fertilisers, iron-ore pellets, metal products and grain make up the working cargo mix at Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi (Belgorod-Dnestrovsky), a freight port on the Black Sea southwest of Odesa. Vessels reach it through a shallow approach channel across the Dniester estuary, roughly 3 metres deep, which limits calls to smaller ships and barges. The port offers a quay complex of about 1,226 metres, some 14,700 m² of covered storage and over 192,000 m² of open yards. Meaningful container traffic is not confirmed; the facility is geared to dry bulk, breakbulk and project cargo. The state-owned operation was offered for privatisation in 2024. Like all Ukrainian Black Sea ports it works under wartime constraints, so for larger or containerised shipments Odesa, Chornomorsk or the Danube ports of Izmail and Reni are the alternatives.
