The Bahregan terminal is built around a floating storage and offloading unit — one of the largest of its kind at some 337 metres long — moored in the Persian Gulf off Iran's Bushehr province. It gathers crude from the offshore Soroush and Norouz fields via subsea pipelines and transfers it to export tankers, while associated gas is separated at the onshore Bahregan base. This is a single-purpose crude oil facility: there are no container, breakbulk or general-cargo operations, and no road or rail hinterland in the logistics sense. Vessels load liquid bulk at an open roadstead rather than alongside a conventional quay. Shippers with boxed or project cargo for Iran should look instead to Bandar Imam Khomeini or Bushehr.
