ArcelorMittal sets the rhythm of Avilés, the Asturian bulk and steel port that handled about 4.7 million tonnes in 2025 (up 0.97% on 2024): the steelmaker's plant sits beside the port and is linked by a dedicated rail connection to both the quays and the national network.
