With an export capacity of around 250,000 barrels per day – and inflows that have at times reached 300,000–320,000 bpd – As Sidr, also known as Es Sider, ranks among Libya's largest crude-oil export terminals on the Gulf of Sidra. Loading is handled offshore through two single buoy moorings (SBMs) at the seaward end of submarine pipelines, with no conventional quay for boxed or break-bulk cargo. The terminal is fed by pipeline from the Waha Oil Company fields, a venture of the state NOC with TotalEnergies and ConocoPhillips. It ships light, sweet crude, mainly to southern Europe and China. Operations depend heavily on security and have been interrupted repeatedly by conflict. For forwarders As Sidr is purely a tanker terminal; container and general cargo moves through Misrata or Benghazi.
