Some 20 nautical miles off Nigeria's south-eastern coast, in the Bight of Biafra south of the Calabar River, the Antan Oil Terminal operates purely as an offshore crude-export facility rather than a conventional port. Crude flows by pipeline to the TMMP platform and onward by hose to the FPSO Knock Adoon, which loads export tankers through a CALM buoy. Only the Antan Blend crude stream from block OML 123 is handled here; the terminal manages no containers, general cargo or RoRo traffic. Since February 2023 it has been run by Antan Producing Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of state-owned NNPCL, following the exit of Addax Petroleum. From 2025 Antan Producing has been advancing a comprehensive reservoir study across blocks OML 123, 124 and 126 to underpin future output. Because the installation sits entirely offshore, it has no hinterland road or rail links of any kind. Shippers with containerised or breakbulk consignments should route through Onne, Calabar or Port Harcourt instead.
