Tied to Almería's marble and dry-bulk industries, the port of Almeria (ES LEI) on Spain's Andalusian coast ships cement, clinker, bentonite, salt, and above all gypsum; gypsum from the Sorbas district alone reached about 3.11 million tonnes in 2025, roughly half of the port's total traffic of around 5.5 million tonnes.
