El Arish (UN/LOCODE EGAAC), on Egypt's North Sinai Mediterranean coast, has become the country's main entry point for Gaza humanitarian aid, handling around 30 relief vessels and some 85,000 tonnes of supplies up to October 2025. In ordinary commercial terms it is mainly a cement, dry-bulk and general-cargo port: cement silos of about 60,000 tonnes lift annual throughput to roughly 1 to 1.5 million tonnes, and there is no meaningful scheduled container service. Its core facility is a multipurpose cargo berth, and the port is marketed through the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE). Hinterland access is by road, close to the Rafah crossing and Gaza. For containerised imports and exports to Egypt, East Port Said (SCCT), Damietta or Alexandria/Dekheila are far more capable alternatives. Shippers should also factor in restricted availability and the priority given to relief cargo.
