The decision follows the operation of an initial fleet of 50 Volvo gas vehicles. Reinert cites practical experience, fuel prices, and the possibility of using bio-LNG as important reasons.

LNG stands for liquefied natural gas. Bio-LNG is also liquefied methane, but is produced from biogenic residual materials such as manure or organic waste. Both fuels can be used in the same vehicles. However, when it comes to climate impact, the source of the gas makes a significant difference. Fossil LNG is not the same as bio-LNG.

For fleet management, refueling network and range remain critical factors. Gas trucks require compatible filling stations, and the availability of certified bio-LNG varies by region.
