> Mexico's transport protests continue without a fixed end date. For US border traffic, access routes and actual customs clearance must be reviewed separately.

---

Mexican transport companies began an indefinite protest action on October 26. They are demanding, among other things, increased security against robberies and extortion on the roads. Industry media sources also mention important logistics hubs in the border region with the USA as potential focal points.

According to a report by La Jornada, the actions continued on October 27. Locations mentioned include Nuevo Laredo and Reynosa. The scope varies by location. An indefinite action does not mean that every road is continuously blocked. A general closure of US border crossings is not confirmed either.

For cross-border shipments, two things must be checked separately: whether access to the crossing is passable, and whether clearance procedures are running as planned. The dispatch department needs feedback from the local freight carrier and customs partner for this.

For time-critical deliveries, drivers, handover partners, and consignees should have the same information status. Buffer times are only useful if pickup times and subsequent goods receipt can also be adjusted. A reroute to another crossing should only occur after confirmed suitability and clearance capability. Additional kilometers, driving times, and delays can otherwise consume the apparent advantage. For firm commitments, current conditions at the specific corridor are what matters.

---

Confirm border crossing, access, and handover by the US partner individually. Do not forward blanket blocking notifications to customers. In short: Mexico traffic currently requires closer coordination at the actual border crossing.
