# Heavy Hitters Join Forces for Hydrogen Trucks in Europe

The companies therefore want to coordinate vehicles, refueling stations, and fuel supply in terms of timing. By 2030, this should enable greater deployment of hydrogen trucks. Hydrogen is viewed as a complement to battery-electric trucks rather than as a standalone solution.

However, crucial practical details are still missing. It is unknown which corridors will be expanded first, how many refueling stations are planned, and when these will open. There are also no figures yet regarding hydrogen pricing and potential supply agreements.

Complete plans are to be presented on September 15, 2026, at the IAA Transportation in Hannover. Until then, it remains unclear whether this announcement will become a binding expansion plan with clear timelines and investments.

Workshop network, payload capacity, range, and refueling downtimes should also be factored into the calculation. Only when these points are clarified in binding terms can a hydrogen truck be fairly compared with diesel or electric vehicles.
