# EUDR

> EUDR is the common abbreviation for the EU Deforestation Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products.

EUDR is the common abbreviation for the EU Deforestation Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products. It prohibits placing on the EU market, making available on that market, or exporting covered goods if they originate from land deforested or degraded after 31 December 2020. Seven commodities are covered – cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soya and wood – together with an exhaustive list of derived products defined in the annex by customs tariff code. The operator who first places a covered product on the EU market or exports it must exercise due diligence, collect geolocation coordinates of the plots of production, and submit a due diligence statement through the EUDR Information System. The regulation applies to large and medium operators from 30 December 2026 and to most micro and small enterprises from 30 June 2027.
