For freight forwarders and exporters, the TFA means faster clearance, lower administrative costs, and more predictable border crossings. Developing countries benefit from staggered implementation schedules and dedicated technical assistance. The TFA is the first fully multilaterally negotiated agreement concluded under the WTO and is widely regarded as one of the most effective tools for reducing trade costs in international freight.
