Freight forwarders and shippers consult terminal tariffs when verifying quotes, building cost calculations, and benchmarking competing facilities. The tariff should not be confused with the Terminal Handling Charge (THC): the THC is a single line item invoiced in the ocean freight contract, while the terminal tariff is the comprehensive schedule from which all such charges derive.
