Every participant—raw material supplier, manufacturer, logistics provider, customs broker, retailer—holds defined responsibilities for documentation, quality, and compliance with trade, customs, and dangerous goods regulations. A disruption at any single link cascades through all downstream stages, making visibility and reliable communication between parties an operational necessity. Unlike the logistics chain, which centres on physical transport and warehousing, the supply chain also encompasses upstream and downstream business processes such as procurement, order fulfilment, and returns management.
