Logistics providers build dedicated reverse pipelines with intake scanning, condition grading, sortation, and onward routing to the appropriate recovery destination. In e-commerce, high return rates can significantly erode margins; rapid processing and accurate restocking directly determine how much value is recovered. The term should not be confused with stock redistribution between company locations, which involves no customer-initiated return.
