Pick and pack is a fulfillment method in which warehouse staff select items from storage and pack them for shipment in a single, uninterrupted operation at the same workstation. There is no intermediate staging area between picking and packing, which cuts handling steps and shortens the time from order receipt to a dispatch-ready parcel. The approach is prevalent in e-commerce fulfillment and smaller distribution centers where order velocity is high and individual orders contain relatively few line items. It differs from batch picking, where large quantities are gathered first and sorted or packed in a separate downstream step.
