# Passar

> Passar is the new digital goods traffic system of the Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG) through which imports, exports and transit shipments are declared electronically.

Passar is the new digital goods traffic system of the Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG) through which imports, exports and transit shipments are declared electronically. It emerged from the DaziT transformation programme and fully replaces the legacy systems NCTS, e-dec and e-dec Web. Its introduction is staged: Passar 1.0 (transit and export) is complete — since 1 January 2026 all exporters must use Passar Ausfuhr. Passar 2.0 (import) is being rolled out from 2026; the last e-dec import declaration is possible on 30 September 2027, after which every import runs through Passar. Passar 3.0 digitalises the monitored procedures and paper forms from 2028. In Passar the goods are declared (goods declaration); in addition the mobile Activ App and the web application Declar link the transport to the border crossing. The prerequisite for companies is registration in the BAZG ePortal. Not to be confused with DaziT: DaziT is the overarching programme, Passar the central IT solution that emerged from it.
