Outbound logistics covers all processes that move finished goods from the manufacturing site or warehouse to the end customer: order processing, picking, packing, loading, and physical transport. It is the customer-facing half of the supply chain – the point where lead times, delivery quality, and transport costs become directly measurable. Freight forwarders coordinate collection windows, routing decisions, and complete documentation for every consignment. Not to be confused with inbound logistics, which handles the flow of materials from suppliers into production, or with in-plant logistics, which deals solely with internal material movements.
