On the road, the ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) provides the primary framework, covering hazard classification, pressure vessel approval and marking, required safety equipment, and the content and format of transport documents. Drivers must hold valid ADR training certificates, and vehicles are subject to periodic technical inspections. Non-compliance can result in fines, temporary operating bans, and civil liability claims. This should not be confused with LPG vessel transport compliance, which falls under separate requirements set out in the maritime conventions SOLAS and MARPOL.
