This removes picking tasks from the assembly line, reduces handling errors, and shortens lead times. Freight forwarders and contract logistics providers offer kitting as a value-added service, for instance to build country-specific product variants or promotional bundles. Unlike repackaging, which simply reboxes existing units, kitting creates a new logistics unit with its own SKU and potentially a distinct customs tariff classification.
