> DAP (Delivered at Place) is an Incoterm under which the seller delivers goods on the arriving means of transport, ready for unloading at the named destination, without actually unloading them.

DAP (Delivered at Place) is an Incoterm under which the seller delivers goods on the arriving means of transport, ready for unloading at the named destination, without actually unloading them. The seller bears all transport costs, export formalities, and the risk of loss or damage throughout transit to that point; import duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility. DAP applies to any mode or combination of modes and is particularly common in road transport for deliveries to a buyer's warehouse or production facility. Unlike DDP, the seller is not required to handle import clearance – a significant advantage for exporters without a customs presence in the destination country. Precisely defining the delivery point in the contract, down to the loading dock or gate, is essential to avoid disputes over who is responsible for unloading.
