Racking structures typically ranging from 12 to 45 metres in height are served by automated stacker cranes or shuttle vehicles, with all put-away and retrieval operations directed by a central Warehouse Management System (WMS). AS/RS installations are widely adopted in consumer goods, pharmaceutical, and e-commerce distribution. Unlike conventional forklift-operated facilities, they largely eliminate manual aisle traffic, reducing picking errors and making energy consumption more predictable.
