It is considerably more demanding than standard dry LCL: conflicting temperature requirements, such as −18 °C for frozen goods alongside +2 to +4 °C for fresh products, can only be managed using physical bulkheads and individual data loggers assigned to each shipper's cargo. Specialized cold-store facilities at the stuffing point are non-negotiable, and liability for any temperature deviation must be contractually allocated before loading begins. Each participant carries an independent cold-chain risk that must be controlled through unbroken documentation and clearly defined handover protocols.
