Shippers and freight forwarders turn to Full Truckload (FTL) whenever a consignment is large enough to fill an entire truck or when uninterrupted direct delivery is required. The vehicle operates exclusively for one client – no intermediate stops to collect additional freight, no transfers at distribution hubs. Compared to Less Than Truckload (LTL), the shipper bears the full transport cost but gains shorter and more reliable transit times, reduced handling damage, and unambiguous carrier liability. FTL is the standard mode for bulk commodities, industrial goods, and time-sensitive road freight. In German-language logistics practice, the terms Komplettladung and Voll-Lkw-Ladung are used interchangeably.
