It is the published or individually negotiated fee schedule through which a forwarder sets out its rates for transport and logistics services, structured by shipment weight, volume, distance, destination, and service level – such as express, standard, or specialised logistics. Additional line items for pickup, storage, insurance, and customs clearance are typically listed separately. Large-volume customers usually negotiate contract rates below the standard tariff. Unlike carrier tariffs issued by shipping lines or airlines, a forwarding tariff covers the forwarder's full service package, including its own handling and administration fees on top of underlying freight costs.
