> The Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) is the projected point in time at which a shipment, vehicle, or vessel is expected to reach its destination.

The Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) is the projected point in time at which a shipment, vehicle, or vessel is expected to reach its destination. Carriers and freight forwarders calculate it from distance, transit speed, routing, and foreseeable delays such as customs clearance, port dwell time, or transshipment operations. ETA drives warehouse scheduling, dock assignments, and last-mile planning on the consignee side. Real-time tracking systems continuously revise the figure as traffic, weather, or operational conditions change. It is distinct from the ETD (Estimated Time of Departure), which marks the expected moment of departure from origin.
