Parallel data entry across separate agency portals is eliminated, berth waiting times shorten, and the administrative burden on agents and operators falls substantially. The legal basis is the EU regulation establishing the single window environment for maritime transport, which sets uniform system requirements across all member states. Unlike the EU Customs Single Window (EU CSW), which spans all transport modes and the full scope of cross-border goods movements, the Maritime Single Window is exclusively focused on shipping and port-related administrative processes.
