# ePortal (BAZG)

> The ePortal is the central online platform of the Swiss federal administration (eportal.admin.ch) through which companies and private individuals access the digital services of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG) – including the Passar goods-traffic system, the heavy-vehicle charge (LSVA) and other applications.

The ePortal is the central online platform of the Swiss federal administration (eportal.admin.ch) through which companies and private individuals access the digital services of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG) – including the Passar goods-traffic system, the heavy-vehicle charge (LSVA) and other applications. In plain terms it is the digital gateway to Swiss customs: you register once and then reach every customs service. For professionals (freight forwarders, hauliers, customs agents, importers): use requires a one-time registration as a BAZG business partner via the «Connex» application; a verification letter containing an onboarding code is then sent by post (delivery in 2–3 working days, valid for 14 days), making the responsible person the portal administrator. The relevant business-partner roles are then requested – for Passar the «Fracht» (freight) and «Transport» roles are required, and the «Geschäftspartner Selfcare» role is mandatory in every case. Since 7 September 2025 login is handled via AGOV (replacing the CH-LOGIN). Foreign companies without a Swiss UID register with their DUNS number; a B2B connection (API) can be set up to link commercial customs software. Not to be confused with Passar itself: the ePortal is the access and administration layer, Passar the actual customs application within it.
