Electronic proof of origin systems replace that paper-based exchange: exporters or manufacturers upload production and supply chain data to a certified online platform that importing-country customs authorities can query directly. The approach shortens clearance times, reduces the administrative burden on both sides, and limits exposure to fraudulent certificates. Unlike electronic proof of origin validation, which covers only the authentication step, these systems manage the full certificate lifecycle – creation, transmission, and archiving.
