# EFTA–Chile FTA

Exporters and importers trading between the EFTA states (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland) and Chile rely on the EFTA–Chile FTA, a free trade agreement in force since 2004. It progressively eliminates tariffs on originating goods and broadens market access in both directions, extending beyond merchandise to cover services, investment, and intellectual property. To benefit from preferential duty rates, traders must comply with the agreement's rules of origin and support origin claims with the required documentation, such as an origin declaration. The EFTA–Chile FTA is distinct from the EU–Chile Association Agreement, which involves a separate set of contracting parties.
