The delivery location is the contractually defined point at which the seller fulfils its delivery obligation and risk transfers to the buyer. Under Incoterms rules such as DAP, DDP or FCA, the rights and responsibilities of both parties hinge directly on this location. If delivery is at the consignee's warehouse, the seller bears all costs and risks to that point; if it is at the port of origin, responsibility shifts considerably earlier. In day-to-day forwarding practice, the delivery location must align precisely across the sales contract, shipping instructions and customs declaration – any discrepancy can create liability gaps or clearance delays. It should not be confused with the place of jurisdiction for contractual claims, which follows different rules.
